Hi! :) Please Stop Asking Journalists These 10 Questions.
These Qs hit my inbox almost every day...
Happy almost June, ya’ll. Phoenix is officially HOT, and we’re about to hit those weirdish summer months where it feels like someone’s always OOO and chasing reporters, sources, and PR becomes an Olympic sport! I mentioned in last week’s Media Opps that I’m getting ready to head out to the Midwest for 10 days, and then my husband and I are venturing to NYC through the end of July. (Would love to meet up with folks coming into town or who live there.)
For today’s newsletter topic, I thought it’d be fun to roundup a list of questions I receive routinely from PR professionals that I ultimately cannot answer and/or demonstrate a misunderstanding of how this whole journalism thing works! My goal isn’t to be snarky, but to spread some awareness of what you should stop asking, and what to ask instead that’ll make a reporter’s life way easier, improve your relationship, and lead to more coverage!

10 PR Questions You Should Stop Asking (Sincerely, All Journalists)
I’m definitely being a bit cheeky with today’s post, but my goal isn’t to offend or be overly snarky! I’m just infusing a bit of humor into some common sources of frustration for reporters, and turning these “no no” Qs into a learning moment for PR professionals.
